MOLÉ: Museum of Latino Experience

San Francisco, CA

“The soul and spirit of the arts and cultures of Mexico and the Americas are fundamentally linked. Through its programs, The Mexican Museum voices the complexity and richness of Latino art throughout the Americas, encouraging dialogue among the broadest public.” - Museum of Latino Experience Mission

We are encouraging MOLE’s mission to connect people from all cultures to the richness of all Latin American Art by attracting and creating anticipation to learn and explore our museum.

Based on the mixing of program, circulation, and form, similarly to the delicious dish mole, we strategically place our programmatic pods in sequence to circulation from one program to another program. We range the programs to shift locations on every floor, allowing peeks from collection spaces into non-collection public programs or administration to mingle in the collection and private spaces.

The form of these pods is the manifestation of a spatial, circulation study, of which the walls are placed diagonally. The placement of the walls allows glimpses unto the next art piece, space, and program to create anticipation to see and learn more about the Latino Art culture.
